Mal wieder eine Liste mit Taylor Swift auf Platz eins – aber nicht irgendeine: Spotify, der meistgenutzte Streamingdienst der Welt, hat zum 20-jährigen Unternehmensjubiläum Top-20-Listen in mehreren Kategorien veröffentlicht. An der Spitze der meistgestreamten Künstlerinnen und Künstler steht Swift vor dem puerto-ricanischen Superstar Bad Bunny.

Das ist keine wirkliche Überraschung: Die beiden wechseln sich seit Jahren an der Spitze der Spotify-Wrapped-Listen ab. 2025 war Bad Bunny zum vierten Mal der meistgehörte Künstler und löste Taylor Swift ab, die die Jahre 2024 und 2023 bestimmt hat. Davor war drei Jahre lang Bad Bunny vorn.

Neben den Topkünstlerinnen und -künstlern weltweit veröffentlichte Spotify auch Listen für die meistgestreamten Lieder, Alben, Podcasts und Hörbücher.

Streaming ist für den Löwenanteil des Geldes verantwortlich, das die Musikindustrie einnimmt. Wie der internationale Dachverband IFPI mitteilte , kamen 69,9 Prozent der weltweiten Umsätze aus dem Streamingbereich. Spotify, im April 2006 in Schweden gegründet, ist die mit Abstand größte Streamingplattform. Nach eigenen Angaben hat Spotify 751 Millionen Nutzerinnen und Nutzer, von denen 290 Millionen ein Abonnement haben.

Grund dafür ist, dass Spotify in Deutschland bereits von 2015 an besonders auf Podcast setzte. »Fest & Flauschig« von Jan Böhmermann und Olli Schulz war 2016 der erste Exklusiv-Podcast von Spotify weltweit. Heute sei Deutschland der zweitgrößte Podcast-Markt der Welt, sagt Spotifys Podcast-Europachefin Saruul Krause-Jentsch.
